Yishi Law Firm has established a leading reputation for banking
and finance, largely through advising four of Japan's biggest banks
on their activities in China. The firm is increasingly winning instructions
from European clients. Li Haojun oversees the team.
Corporate and Commercial
Since it was established in 1995, Yishi Law Firm has attracted
high-level instructions from mainly Japanese clients, including
Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Mitsubishi Motors, and Sony. While the
client base remains 70% Japanese, the vibrant firm acts for an
increasingly significant number of major European companies such
as L'Oreal and American companies such as General Electric. In
2002/3, it advised seven foreign-invested non-bank financial institutions
on the bankruptcy proceedings of Pacific Equipment Leasing Co.
